Valentines Cards Word Art

I noticed in the shops the other day that you can now buy valentines cards for just about every member of your family - or even your pet.

I'm sure it wasn't that long ago that you could only get a small selection of Husband/Wife Boyfriend/Girlfriend cards.

Growing up my parents never sent me Valentines cards (why was that Mum? huh?!) so I was a teen before I got my first.

My girls seem far more aware of Valentines than I was (the fact I have festooned the house in hearts probably has something to do with it!).

Miss R decided last night that she wants to send a Valentines Card to a boy in her class (she's 6) and so she has been making a card for him.  She is drawing a picture of them together on the front.  It's very sweet.

I have decided to jump on the bandwagon of sending cards to the children - just to tell them that I love them.

I didn't want to buy a standard card from the shop so I thought I'd combine my current love of Word Art / Word Clouds with Valentines day.

I have made them each a word art heart with the names of their favourite things - all their favourite toys plus their family.  Miss R in pink because that's her favourite colour and Little Miss L's in green because that's her favourite.

Its personal and only relevant to them.  I hope they like them.

Heart Felt Garlands

Heart Felt Garlands - perfect for Valentines Day

Valentines day this week. The day of love.

I wanted some decorations for the house but couldn't find anything I liked so decided to make my own.

I cut lots of hearts out of some felt scraps and then ran them through the sewing machine to join them together and Ta-dah!

Heart felt garlands.

Valentines crafts are utterly wasted on men. Mr H won't appreciate these in the slightest but I love them and the girls will love them I'm sure.

Happy Valentines Day everyone. You can never say " I love you" too much. If you love someone - make today the day you tell them.

Photo a Day Challenge - January

Project 365.  Photo a Day Challenge

One of my New Years Resolutions was to do a Photo-a-Day Challenge - I started well but then kind of, well, forgot.

However - there's still a lot of the year left so I am going to hop back on the band wagon and get back to it.

I am. Really.

Here's how I did in January.

I managed to day 20 before I forgot!

And here are the results all crammed up together in a smudgey mess :)

Days 1 - 20 of Photo a Day Challenge

Day 2 is the slightly dubious "Begins with G" - it got to the end of the day and I remembered I had to a do my photo, only had my phone and had to come up with my G which was surprisingly difficult in the middle of a car park in the dark (it was the same day as the 'crochet hook incident'!).  So I went with 'Guzzle' - Mr H guzzling a drink.  Poor effort I know - especially for day 2!

I think I might catch up with the rest of the piccies as well as carrying on with February.
